- 61 adults over 65 years old
- 20 adult trainers
- 18 young volunteers
- 3 countries
- 16 indoors and outdoor activities with seniors, youth and adult educators
- 143K people reached through digital communication
These figures are indicative of the Erasmus + project “SEAnior Leaders”, aiming to enhance the green skills and the awareness levels of senior citizens, mainly over 65 years old, and adult educators with respect to environmental protection, ecological footprint reduction and shifting of ageist attitudes and prejudices.
Through a set of targeted activities and feedback received from seniors, adult educators from Greece, Italy and Portugal created the “Good Practices Report” in order to guide adult educators and relevant professionals on their efforts to educate adults over 65 years old on environmental protection.
Knowledge gained during the implementation of the project and best practices led to the development of the “Environmental Education Programme for Seniors”. The programme includes indoor and outdoor environmental education activities tailored to seniors, which aim to inform, motivate, implicate and make this age group part of the solution.
The project was implemented in Greece by MEDASSET and Startagers, in Italy by EduVita and in Portugal by Future Balloons
