In collaboration with Kaleidoscope Publications MEDASSET has presented 1,500 copies of its educational kit “Mediterranean Sea, A Source of Life” to the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs so that the groundbreaking educational materials contained in each packet can be included in lesson plans used in the introductory classes being offered to the children of refugees.
Giannis Pantis, General Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs, declared: “The excellent material that has been developed by the NGO, MEDASSET, in collaboration with Kaleidoscope Publiations, is suitable for group activities and cross-curricular work alike, so it is a really valuable tool for teachers struggling to respond to the very particular requirements of our introductory classes”.
The user-friendly kit of environmental education is the product of a collaboration between MEDASSET, the Greek Childrens Museum, and Kaleidoscope Publications. It aims to provide children with a broad-based introduction to the Mediterranean Sea and its shoreline; its plant and animal life; the human communities it supports both now and in the past, as well as the threats to its future.
