Consultation Workshop on the Implementation of the National Action Plan for the Conservation of Sea Turtles in Albania

The consultation workshop on the implementation of the National Action Plan for the Conservation of Sea Turtles in Albania, took place on 29^th of September 2022 in Mondial Hotel in Tirana, under the project “Conservation of Marine Turtles in the Mediterranean region” funded by MAVA Foundation.

The workshop was organized by MEDASSET in collaboration with Dr. Enerit Sacdanaku, herpetologist at Research Center of Flora and Fauna in the University of Tirana and focused on the evaluation of the implementation of the Action Plan for the Conservation of Sea Turtles in Albania. From the open discussion with the stakeholders, the need of coordination and cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, the National Agency of Protected Areas, the Regional Directorates of Protected Areas, the Herpetofauna Albanian Society and the NGOs was highlighted.

MEDASSET plays an active role in the study and conservation of sea turtles in Albania and will continue to support the implementation of projects towards this direction.
