Caretta²Zakynthos: Last Survey and Cleanup in Zakynthos

As part of the Caretta²Zakynthos project, implemented by MEDASSET and funded by WWF Greece, the last survey to identify marine litter in Zakynthos took place. The last cleanup at Agios Sostis Harbor was completed in collaboration with AquaTec Diver Training’s divers.

Unfortunately, once again, the harbor’s seabed revealed a significant amount of litter, including plastics, bottles, and even a tourist sign found outside the designated tourist route—evidence of human activity impacting the environment.

Agios Sostis is a critical habitat for the local sea turtle population, and this initiative aims to protect the marine ecosystem while raising public awareness about environmental conservation.
